TVP's executive team has been operating in the technology venture capital scene since their involvement as founding executives of the Australian Technology Group (ATG), a government-sponsored VC company, which was established in 1993. TVP commenced operations in May 1997 to provide venture capital to Australian and New Zealand technology companies and has grown to become the region's leading VC manager, specialising in the ICM sector. The firm is independent and wholly owned by the partners.

TVP will invest in businesses at any stage of the private company lifecycle - from start-up to expansion and pre-IPO and has built specialist capabilities in early stage investing. TVP will also invest in corporate spin-offs and management buy-outs. TVP's investment criteria is designed to identify companies with an Australian or New Zealand connection, strong management capabilities, global market opportunities and sustainable competitive advantages, often resulting from unique intellectual property and know-how in the area of software, hardware, communications technology and microelectronics.
